2023 “Tewksbury” model 7/8 flatback

Description This 2023 “Tewksbury” model comes from a series made by the Cincinnati Bass Cellar. Inspired by the instruments of Moses Tewksbury, an apprentice of Abraham Prescott during the first half of the 19th century, this instrument design has been modified a little to address the concerns of  a contemporary orchestral player. The string length, upper bout shape and width, and solo fingerboard extension all provide improved playability. The woods and hardware are very well chosen. Dimensions are: Top length 45 1/4″, Upper bout width 21 3/4″, Middle bout width 14 5/8″, Lower bout width 28 1/2″, Rib depth at tail 8 5/8″, Rib depth at upper bout 8″, Rib depth at neck 6 1/4″, String length 41 1/2″. This has been a successful series of instruments for the Cincinnati Bass Cellar. With Messina cover.
