Description USSR Russia CCCP-original 1940th-1950th silver Battle Merit Medal Original Soviet era For Battle Merit medal (Za Boevie Zalsugi) in practically as-issued condition; complete with the original pin-on suspension plank. Issued in the late 1940th – 1950th; plain unnumbered reverse. Bright red enamel is smooth and damage-free, no nicks on the edges, scarce this nice – most of these medals are pretty banged-up from constant wear. The medal is about 32.5 mm in diameter from sided to side; total weight is 30.7 grams. Very attractive piece struck in sterling silver with original light-gray patina throughout; early bronze suspension plank with a silk ribbon.
